About the Event:

The event calls upon all future aerospace engineers and space enthusiasts as teams to design, build, and launch their rockets as per a given problem statement. The event also calls upon space technology and launch vehicle startups and companies from all over the world to showcase their developed technologies and products to a huge gathering of space enthusiasts, potential customers, experts, and investors.

The competition section of the event is designed to:

  • Ignite passion for aerospace and rocketry: Inspire and challenge students to explore the exciting world of rocketry, sparking a lifelong interest in space exploration and engineering.
  • Nurture practical skills: Provide a platform for students to apply their theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios, gaining valuable hands-on experience in design, fabrication, and testing.

The SDNx Inter-College Rocket Competition and Space Technology Symposium 2024 (ICRCSTS 2024) stands as a pioneering, research-oriented, and competitive, representing an immersive, experimental exploration event. This singular endeavour is dedicated toadvancing the realms of aerospace engineering, specifically focusing on the intricate research and development of rocket propulsion systems and other space technology. In pursuit of excellence, the ICRCSTS 2024 introduces a series of meticulously crafted challenges, talks, and exhibitions, strategically designed to engage and inspire a diverse audience, ranging from undergraduate students to postgraduate students of esteemed colleges and universities from all over the world along with highly experienced working professionals and freshers with new ideas for development of technology entirely.

In the ever-evolving landscape of space exploration, our symposium aims to bring together pioneers, thought leaders, and enthusiasts to delve into the latest advancements, share insights, and foster collaboration within the dynamic realm of space technology.

This symposium promises to be a gathering of minds, offering a platform for engaging discussions, knowledge exchange, and exploration of cutting-edge innovations shaping the future of space technology. We envision an event that not only showcases the current achievements but also sparks dialogues that propel the industry towards new heights.

Categories

  • Category 1: Generalized chemical rockets.
    Problem statement will be provided on 1st May 2024.

Team Composition and Eligibility

  • ICRC teams shall consist of members who were matriculated undergraduate or graduate students (i.e. Masters or Doctoral students) from a single academic institution.
  • Joint teams from different academic institutions are ineligible.
  • Multiple teams from a single academic institution can participate.
  • The maximum number of students per team is restricted to 10.
  • All teams are mandated to have an experienced mentor affiliated with their academic institution.
  • The teams are also allowed to have a maximum of 1 outside expert mentor but this is not mandated.
  • Each team shall submit no more than one project to ICRC.

A basic training session on the basic procedure for the rocket design process will be conducted for all interested teams at a nominal fee before the distribution of the problem statement of the competition.

Awards

  • Judges Choice and Overall Winner Award: One team among the launching teams will be named the overall winner of the Inter-College Rocket Competition and will receive their own ICRC 2024 trophy along with a monetary award.
  • Technical Achievement Awards: ICRC presents four awards recognizing technical achievement to deserving teams competing in the competition. Three of these are awarded based on the competition officials’ qualitative assessments made during the presentation round and interactions the following day – spent making launch preparations in the field. The final award is awarded to any ICRC team based on flight performance.

SDNx Space Technology Symposium

The SDNx Space Technology Symposium is a groundbreaking 3-day event that unites startups, established companies, and industry experts in the space sector. This immersive experience combines a continuous exhibition, insightful seminars, and expert talks, fostering collaboration, networking, and knowledge exchange.
