About the Young Astronaut Program (YAP)

The Young Astronaut Program (YAP) by Space Development Nexus (SDNx) is an innovative online educational initiative aimed at students aged 12 to 16 from around the globe. This program is designed to spark curiosity and foster a deep passion for space exploration and science. Through a series of expert-led sessions and interactive webinars, YAP provides a comprehensive understanding of various space-related topics.

YAP offers five exciting subjects: Rocketry, CubeSat, Universal Ground Vehicles (Rovers), Astronomy, and Astrobiology. Each subject is structured to include six hours of theoretical knowledge, one session dedicated to FAQs and doubts, and a final session featuring a webinar from an industry expert or a demonstration via video meet. Classes are held every Saturday and Sunday for a month, ensuring a flexible and engaging learning schedule.

Participants can choose any number of subjects according to their interests, allowing for a tailored educational experience that can total up to 40 hours of immersive learning. This program not only provides in-depth knowledge but also connects students with leading professionals in the space industry, inspiring them to explore careers in space science and technology.

Key Objectives of the Young Astronaut Program (YAP)
