About the Event:

Space Summer Camp, organized by Space Development Nexus in collaboration with Amity, is a pioneering program designed to provide a comprehensive and engaging learning experience in space sciences and technology for school students aged 10-18. The program combines theoretical knowledge with practical, hands-on workshops to ignite curiosity and foster a passion for space exploration and technology.

The camp invites students to delve into the fascinating world of space sciences, offering theoretical and practical workshops on topics such as rocketry, CubeSats, and Rovers. Through these workshops, students will learn about the principles and technologies behind space missions, enabling them to understand the complexities of space exploration.

To make the event truly exciting and memorable, we will conclude with a live rocket launch on the final day. This thrilling experience is designed to ignite curiosity, inspire young minds, and motivate students to explore the incredible world of aerospace and space science.

Key Objectives of Space Summer Camp:

Itinerary:

Phase 1: Online Theoretical Workshops (May 16th – 18th) – Microsoft Teams – 04:00 PM to 7:00 PM
  • Interactive sessions delivered by experts of the fields with Q&A with leading researchers.
  • Daily topics include: Rocketry, CubeSats, & Rovers.

T.K. Sundaramurthy
With over 37 years at ISRO, Mr. Sundaramurthy brings unmatched expertise in mission operations and management of communication and meteorological satellites.

Prof. M.S. Prasad
Director of the Amity Institute of Space Science & Technology, Prof. Prasad combines 30+ years of aerospace industry experience with 8 years of academic leadership, mentoring future space scientists and engineers.

Boris Otter (Switzerland)
President and Founder of Swiss Space Tourism, Boris has undergone private cosmonaut training and zero-gravity flights. His dream? To cross the Karman Line (100 km altitude) and earn the title of Commercial Astronaut by 2025–2026!

Space Summer Camp takes your space adventure to a whole new level 

Get ready to:

  Assemble Your Own CubeSat (Day 4): (10:00 AM to 02:00 PM)
  • Get an insider’s look at CubeSat components and assembly
  • Put your newfound knowledge to the test by building a basic CubeSat model – a hands-on experience that’s out of this world!
Become a Rocket Scientist (Day 5): (10:00 AM to 02:00 PM)
  • Learn the secrets of rocket design in a morning
  • Transform theory into action by building and launching your very own water rockets in the afternoon! There’ll even be a competition to see whose rocket soars the farthest!
Build and Test a Rover (Day 6): (10:00 AM to 02:00 PM)
  • Unleash your inner engineer with an introduction to rover design and components.
  • The fun doesn’t stop there! You’ll get to build and test your own rover’s navigation and control systems.
Phae 3 : Conclude the session with a Live Rocket Launch  (Day 7): (10:00 AM to 2:00 PM)
  • This thrilling experience is designed to ignite curiosity, inspire young minds, and motivate students to explore the incredible world of aerospace and space science
  • The thrill of a live launch creates a powerful memory — something students will remember for years, reinforcing their excitement about space exploration.

  • Experiencing the launch first hand will motivate students to consider careers in aerospace, space technology, and engineering fields.

  • Students will feel proud to be part of an event where a rocket is launched, making them realize that they too can dream big and achieve great things.
